About Me

WELCOME GETdownSOULDIERS
--- Specializing In Innovative Rock & Roll Solutions And Expanding Groove Opportunities---

Matt McDevitt and Greg McGarvey grew up a few streets away from each other, shared interests, shared friends, and eventually attended the same high school during the same four years. Only trouble was that they're lazy-ass-sons-o'-bitches and they didn't bother to meet until mutual friend Rory introduced them on graduation day. Yes, that's right; they waited until their high school class was sorted by last name and alphabetical law forced their McPaths to McCross. But it's never too late to make great music.
And that's a really good thing, because they waited another three years before they saw each other again. But then, with friends like John Hankins and Jon Welsford, Matt and Greg started jamming and writing together, tearing up the local music scene one empty coffee house and bar at a time. In 2008, with the addition of Nick D'Amore's powerful drumming, GDS hit the ground running, quickly falling into a groove playing shows filled with their countless original songs (each member is a songwriter).
GDS is a versatile, eclectic, rock & roll band that puts on intense, in-the-moment shows. They have performed acclaimed shows in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Philadelphia, Trenton and every corner of New Jersey, and every corner of Bucks County, including regular concert-length performances at John & Peter's Place in New Hope. The first GETdownSOULS album is expected in summer 2009.

GETdownSOULS aren't proud of what they did on Saturday
