Talented singer, songwriter, actor and musician Sally Marett, brings you her unique blend of soul, groove, jazz and fusion.
Sally's professional career began in 1996, when she accepted the full time role of 'Tiegan' on the Australian television program 'Home and Away', a role she performed for 2 years. As a child she regularly attended the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), and was a student at the performing arts school, The McDonald College.In 1999 she was accepted into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, where she completed the acting course. During this time she performed extensively on stage, using her acting and singing skills in everything from Shakespeare to contemporary Australian theatre.
With a continued love of learning and performing, Sally then went to the Far North Coast of NSW to indulge her love of music. She was accepted into the singing course at Southern Cross University, where she began creating her original music. She then formed her band 'Sally and the 4', performing feature gigs around the region. During her time in Lismore she was also the lead vocalist of the 'Groove Embassy' and the SCU Big Band.
Sally returned to Sydney at the end of 2006 where she amerced herself in the local live music scene, soon becoming a prominent vocalist in the industry. She quickly established herself, performing her first show at The Basement and following this with gigs at Opera Bar, The Macquarie Hotel, The Golden Sheaf, The Empire Hotel & many more. She has supported Israeli funk band Funkenstein on their debut Australian tour in 2008, performed backing vocals for Paris Wells on Channel 7‘s Sunrise program, and had regular residencies with Shinola!, and The Nightcap Orchestra. Sally recorded her debut self titled EP in 2009 and is releasing it mid 2010 with a North Coast & Sydney tour. Sally is extremely interested in creating and supporting original music, and invites you into her world of song!
