About Me

I live at the Jersey Shore, next door to Asbury Park. I'm a competitive cyclist and race throughout the year; I ride and train to prepare to race. I am a member of Team Norwood Agency, we are a racing team based out of Long Branch, New Jersey. Our team features a strong squad of Category 3 and 4 riders contending for top places in New Jersey bicycle races. My personal strength is the road race; attacking to try and create breakaways. In the criteriums I work for the team in a support role, chasing and setting up our sprinters for the finish. This coming year looks very promising for our team and the potential for success.Cycling also provided an outlet for my video and photography endeavors, and I created and manage the website Jerseyrider.org to showcase cycling and other sporting events. Along with a couple of assistants, we photograph and film races, talk to riders, and tell the real stories of amateur competitive cyclists. The website has gained a strong following among bicycle racers in the state, and we are hoping to release a feature documentary in 2008.Riding and racing, video and photography, these are just a few of the things about me. Too many more to mention. There’s no place I’d rather be and life around here is good, so be sure to come on down the Shore when summer arrives!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Endurance athletes; competitive cyclists, triathletes, runners. The people who make these sports so exciting! Photographers, film makers, story tellers. Those who push the limits - Lance Armstrong, Francisco 'Pipin' Ferreras, Jeb CorlissVideo from the jerseyrider.org website.Labor Day 2007 cycling video from jerseyrider.orgHard core music video/documentary of a person who pushes the limits of what is humanly possible

The Bicycle Diaries - Fast Times in Marlton 5/18/08

Crits are fast races to begin with, it's just the nature of the beast. And when it comes to fast courses there may be some debate, but riders who have been around for a while can generally agree that ...

The Bicycle Diaries - Return to Branch Brook 4/19/08

Usually I am finished racing Battenkill-Roubaix by this time, but this year I didn't get into the race, as the Cat 4 field closed quickly and I decided against the wait list.  Instead, I focused ...

The Bicycle Diaries - Twice the Pain at PNC 3/30/08

The next to last race of the series in Holmdel brought the bulk of the Norwood squad out for a Sunday morning slugfest in the 4/5 and 3/4 races. Silly me, glutting for punishment, enters both; hey, wh...

The Bicycle Diaries - Brutality 3/9/08

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, high winds toppled a tree in my yard in another display of the forces of nature. Imagine trying to ride in it. Then make it a reality. To put it simply, I shou...

One thing that I have learned over the last several years is that no matter how rough the winter has been, no matter how cold it is, no matter how many miles anybody has been able to do, when the cale...

The Bicycle Diaries - Countdown 2/24/08

I almost find it hard to believe that the first weekend of racing is less than a week away. Some years the off season seems long; this year it really hasn't. I can't say that we've had the best of con...
