A Fan Tribute to the music of Schoolly D

About Me

This is only a Fan Tribute page and is no way affiliated with Schoolly D.
Though most people credit N.W.A. with being the "Godfathers of Gangsta Rap", Schoolly D alone deserves that distinction. Years before N.W.A. was making controversial headway into mainstream Hip Hop, Schoolly D was the subject of heated protests, angry parent conferences, radio censure, controversial magazine articles, and even pressure from community groups to have his albums removed from record stores.
Schoolly D, along with DJ Code Money, helped to pioneer the Philly Hip Hop scene in the early-mid 80's with their raw, unrehearsed street sound. Hip Hop to the core, Schoolly D even did the art for his Album covers. Schoolly D's music was even featured prominently in several films such as Abel Ferrara's "King Of New York" and "Bad Lieutenant".
These days, Schoolly D can be heard on the Cartoon Network program, "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" as the narrator, the lyricist in the theme song, and frequent musical contributor to the show.

PS. As of the set-up of this page, I didn't realize that Schoolly D already has an Official page here on MySpace. I apologize for the redundancy--hopefully, you can use this page to add songs he doesn't have on his page. You can check out his page here:
