Michael Allan Williams is the lead singer for The Lost Highway Ramblers. He is also a solo artist who writes his own music and lyrics and performs in the acoustic/electric country genre. If you were to ask Studio 415 recording artist Michael Allan Williams to define himself in one word, he'll tell you "I'm a singer." Those close to him consider that response a gross oversimplification, but it doesn't surprise them...As a child of the sixties in Montclair, New Jersey, Michael loved music more than anything else. He developed his voice and an ear for harmonies singing in his church youth choir and grammar school Glee Club. He credits his 9th grade English teacher with first instructing and encouraging him to write. Mr. Hoke made his students keep journals in which they could write anything, and Michael wrote away.As an adult, Michael decided it was time to learn to play the guitar and harmonica. Before long, he began to blend his love of writing with playing instruments, and started writing songs. His journals really came in handy."I write on a very personal level. I write what I know. For me, it's the only way to do it."Today, Michael's musical compositions blend the sounds and influences of a lifetime: country, folk, a little bit of rock, and the harmonies he learned in church."When all is said and done, I just like to sing. I'm a singer."
