Wild Ginger Kitchen

About Me

GingerBritt is the singer/songwriter/creator of Wild Ginger Kitchen. She conceived and started writing on her keyboard for the band two years ago, after touring/gigging in three different girl bands as a drummer. A singer/actress/dancer on stage and screen for the past 12 years, she has performed with the likes of Hugh Jackman, and in the Broadway tour of The Who's Tommy. Her guitarist, JohnPaul Le Febvre adds a bluesy feel, with sexy guitar riffs that add dimension to the band's sometimes rougher edge. Ginger Britt collaborates musically with John Paul as well as with Oregon guitarist, Aaron Knudson sometimes, in songs such as "Come Home,' and "Treated U Better." Bassist, Melinda Morton has a dynamic stage presence, and solid grounding with her complex bass runs. Newest edition to the band, drummer, Deon Hairston has a cool funky vibe that adds a new dimension of soulful excitement. The band is LA based, and fills any house in the Venice beach area. Often compared to Led Zeppelin, Queens of The Stone Age, and Janis Joplin, they are a refined rock band like no other. They shot their first music video with Present Day Pictures, and are busy recording their debut album, "John Wayne Movies." GingerBritt has been called, "a larger than life personality in a tight little package of redheaded wildness." Kiss or Kill Review by JM Hebron 405 East... Wild Ginger Kitchen started the live music for the evening shortly before 10pm. Ginger Britt was a tight little package with blue jeans, a gold frazzle halter top, and a red head of wildness. The Mighty fills her country punk vocals with fast beat instrumental support. Her recorded material does not vibe the punk rock two-step hoedown feel that the live harmonica and fiddle supported performance emanates, but both do have a heavy burned emotional vocal breach that will horse kick any bad attitude. Their set, including a southern spiked Jefferson Airplane and Wolfmother cover, lasted 'til nearly 10:30. ..

Band Members: I write the melody and lyrics on my keyboard, and then guitarist JohnPaul Le Febvre adds his own flavor and theme parts to it. Guitarist Aaron Knudsen and I have recently written a few tunes together. Melinda Morton is playing bass, and Mike Schadel is drumming. Ronnie James of Bourbon Saints plays bass occasionally (seen here on the youtube video) and in the music video shown here shot by Present Day Pictures. The 1st three recordings on this site are me drumming too, though I love to have an idea I have embellished upon by a better drummer. Michael Bove is the drummer on "F*** Off," from the Broadway show Stomp, and recordings for The Shocker. Don Teschner from Rod Stewart's band is the guy on the fiddle in the youtube video here.
