This page is dedicated to one of the greatest characters in gaming history.The Sonic franchise started in the early 90's as a way to stay in competition with nintendo.Sega was very successfull by creating a character based on the physics of speed.Sonic gave gamers great environments and breakneck speed.Many characters and spinoffs were added on to the series but the lightning fast hedgehog always caught everyones attention.There were many animated series based on sonic and while some were better than others his popularity boosted.During the post 32 bit era Sonic was knowhere to be seen.With the success of the PS1 and mainly the N64 and Mario 64 Sega needed an answer.The creators came up with very interesting franchises such as Nights into dreams and Burning Rangers but no Sonic equaled problems.But thanks to the Sega Dreamcast Sonic made a triumphant return with two great Sonic titles.However that system would soon meet its demise.Sega made a smart decision to create games for all the systems as opposed to making one themselves.Sonic is back and with the new Sonic games and new animes it proves Sonic is here to stay. games layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com MyHotComments
