Torsion Records
We are a fresh Breakbeat imprint from Marseille, southeast of France. The label was born in London though, in 1999, and at that time released a pirate Acidcore EP followed by a 5 years blackout.
Back then in 2004, after moving back to Marseille, Crackhead Worm & Probe1 developed live set performances which involved less 4x4, lowering the tempo, more basslines, while still retaining the energy of the former style. It was time Torsion welcomed fellow Break heads Keshno, Youz, Viktor Boogie and Wolf - all coming from different and wide musical backgrounds. This led to new directions and the label carried on producing and releasing Breakbeat music in France.
There's no scene without audience, there's no audience without parties. So the crew always represented its sound by promoting events, should they be small or massive, legal or dodgy. After the years, Torsion played with artists like The Freestylers, Caterva & Helixir, NAPT, the MAD team, Chris Liberator, Miss'Ill, Dj Quest & Odissi, IOT Records, 30Hz, X-Tech, R-Zac, Cedric Benoit, Baobinga, Flore, Umek, Dub-4 & Matozoides, Groove Allegiance, Cyberskum, Dj Tal, The Phat Riderz, Afrika Bambaataa, Prosper & Gwendael, Tricky D, Pushy!, Tambour Battant, JDS, Berurier Noir, Ixindamix, White Papoo, Steelzawheelz, Noisebuilder & Popof ... to name just a few.
