I am here for Friends

About Me

I live in Northern California with my wonderful wife. The path I walk would not be as bright without her. We live close to the mountains and close to the sea. We are right in the middle! It is a good place to be!

I work with wildlife and enjoy every minute of it. I work as a naturalist but specialize in Birds of Prey. They are my life. I really enjoy my work. It is a great honor to call them friends and live and work with them in there natural environment. They have taught me many things!
I enjoy living off the land. We plant a garden each year and we hunt/fish for a good portion of our food. Being thankful all the while for what the earth has given us. Respecting it and not abusing it. So many folks don't think of how we get our food. We as humans should be thankful to the earth and to our brother animal nations for giving thier lives so that we may eat. Be thankful for you food and water. If it were not for the sun and earth we would have no life.
I try to live a good life and walk a good way. The way of our ancestors. The old ways are just as valid today as they were then. It is our responsablitiy to learn these ways, so that we my teach the future generations. Go listen to your elders. Talk to your family, learn where you came from. It is important....before its to late.
I came across some very special words from a great man. I would like to share them with everyone who reads this. I hope they can be helpful to you or maybe you understand the meaning and will share this message with someone else in your life. These words were spoken by Thomas Yellowtail in a prayer: "You have given different ways to different people all over the world. As we know, this earth is round like a wagon wheel. In a wagon wheel, all the spokes are set into the center. The circle of the wheel is round, and all spokes come from the center, and the center is You, Acbadadea, the Maker of All Things Above. Each Spoke can be considered as a different religion of the world which has been given by You to different people and different races. All of the people of the world are on the rim of the wheel, and they must follow one of the spokes to the center. The different paths have been given to us, but they all lead to the same place. We all pray to the same God, to You. There are different places on the wheel, so each way may look strange to someone following a different path. It is easy for people to say that their way is best if they know all about their faith and it is good for them. But they should refrain from saying bad things about other ways that they don't know about. There should be no hard feelings about someone else if he is following a way that leads to you. Help us to see this wisdom."
