Ska-Billy-Blues...with attitudeThese Hamiltonions have been playing around town for what seems like eons. They've all played in more bands than most people have had hot lunches and have now put together this current line-up. Up front on vocals and bass is Wayne Crews who spent 7 years in the Rayburns as the only original member. He also survived 2 years with the Crawl daddys and had a brief stint with Mean Red Spiders long ago. Dan Gruba on drums also spent a few years in the Rayburns as well as the Mandrakes and was a founding member of the Mean Red Spiders. This has led to some real rhythm section chemistry between these two vets. Jeff Andersen on guitar, from notorious punk band Riot Star, brought his inventive guitar work that helps create that 'Responsible' sound. With another Mean Red Spider alumnus Paul Coombs joining in on guitar and vocals, they now had some real versatility to try out new sounds. The band has taken their sound to the street, and more importantly, they have managed to take it inside the clubs and onto the stage. They have played at the Festival Of Friends, and have shared the stage with acts such as The Supersuckers, New Model Army, DOA, The Toasters, and The Forgotten Rebels.The Responsibles released their first EP 'Chronic Seducer' in 2003 and followed it up with 2004's EP 'out all night' Both EPs managed to land on the national campus radio charts.Their full length album, 'CLASS*ACTION*SUIT' released by Double Hell also landed on the national campus radio charts as well as landing the number 2 spot on CFMUs top 93 albums of 2006. It also garnered two Hamilton Music Awards nominations for Best Punk Recording and Best Album Art. They once again brought in Vikas Kohli to produce the CD at FatLabs Studio and he has helped create a tight, full sound for a strong set of ball-breaking songs. Their new album 'The Fatlabs Sessions' debuted in the top 20 of the National Campus Radio charts and earned another Hamilton Music Award Nomination for Best Punk Recording. The band will be looking to break new ground with this release and will be supporting it with live performances.----------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------
