History
Kuroshio Current was originally started by the singer aQi as a one man band in autumn 1997. It was heavily influenced by techno and industrial music at the time.
Time passed, and aQi was joined by tQ, whom he met in late 2002. Both of them shared a similar taste of music and unanimously decided to meet at the Offnote studios, where aQi was composing the KC material at the time. TQ brought with him a remix-idea of an older KC song, which immediately impressed aQi to the extent that he asked tQ to join the band.
Late in 2003 tQ asked *ErilaZ to visit the Offnote studios in order to try out guitars on some KC tracks. *ErilaZ came and showed his great talent and was thus asked to join the band as a full-time member.
After its birth KC has done a few demo CD's, two self produced albums (The.Crash - 2002, Innerspace Trauma - 2005) and performed in various different clubs and venues around Finland and Eastern Europe. The albums have received great response and reviews from all over the world.
In 2006 Kuroshio Current was signed to UHOtrax , a record label concentrated on various sub genres of electronic music. The second release of UHOtrax was Kuroshio Current - Hollow Man (cds) released on 28.2.2007. This single remains the only official release of KC.
The burial of Kuroshio Current
After the single release, the band experienced great difficulties as tQ left the band in late 2007 after a warm-up show for VNV Nation . Collaboration with the record label also soon started to crack and was discovered to be a disappointment on both sides. On 3rd October 2008 the band officially declared to be buried alive by its surviving members, aQi and *ErilaZ.
