BIOGRAPHY
S tella was born in Rethimno, Greece, in 1970. She studied saxophone performance at Athenaeum Conservatory with N. Ginos and Th. Kerkezos. In the order of the last one graduated with the degree of specialization (First Prize). At the same time, she attended theoretical classes with C. Xanthoudakis and D. Diamandopoulos. She has also attended master classes with the classic Professors: J. Y. Fourmeau, D. Campbell and G. McCrystal , as well as seminars of multi-art expression and music of 20th century.
S tella has acted jointly as saxophone performer with the Orhestre d' Harmonie des Jeunes of E. U., the “Camerata†Orchestra by Friends of Music, the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra , the Symphony Orchestra of Athenians Municipality and the Athens State Orchestra under the direction of J. Cober, A. Baltas, A. Myrat, V. Fidetzis, P. Sergioy, D. Owens, W. Rousso, T. Brocks and many other conductors.
A s a soloist, she has co-operated with the Tal Quintet, the http://profiles.classicalmusic.gr/ason Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Athenians Municipality String Orchestra and the Leipzig Rundfunk-Blasorchester. She has been a member of the Th. Kerkezos Saxophone Quartet and at the Athens Saxophone Quartet.
S he has interpreted soloist works and chamber music works of modern Greek composers in world premiere, while some of these are dedicated to her. As saxophone performer, she gives recitals in collaboration with other notable soloists, music ensembles, symphonic bands and orchestras both in Greece and abroad. From 2004 onwards, Stella was the founder and the Artistic Director of the "Athenaeum" Saxophone Quartet , which consists of four musicians with common aesthetic and artistic objectives: Stella Arabatzoglou (soprano), Eleonora Rousinou (alto), Katerina Georgiadou (tenor) and Marietta Tsakmakli (baritone saxophone).
A s a pedagogue, she teaches at the Piraeus Musical High School , St. Catherin's British Embassy School and at the Athenaeum Conservatory . Along with her teaching and the soloist activity she is a member of the Athens Philharmonic Orchestra of Athenians Municipality.
