'Flying under a radar near you,' seems to be a fitting moniker for the Wisconsin based rock act, Circle of Fifths. "It never seizes to amaze me the number of people who happen to catch one of our shows and are suprised we are from Wisconsin," says 'CO5' lead vocalist/bassist B J. Breecher. "I think some folks tend to think we are from regions that, in some people's eyes are more the norm for a rock act... LA, New York, or even Chicago. They don't realize we are a bunch of down-to-earth upper midwestern guys. I think it's due to a couple factors, but mostly because of the type of show we put on and our original music. Some people may think what we have to offer just doesn't come from the upper midwest region." Still, playing the dark horse role is something the band has learned to accept, and maybe even relish. "We love raising eye brows." Billing themselves as 't-shirt n' blue jeans' rockers, the quartet (Ben Kurowski-Guitar, Lane Bashaw-Guitar, and Luke Heckel-Drums) stay away from the pop rock/'faux punk' scene. They are unapologetically a modern rock band, in the realm of acts like Alterbridge and Shinedown, but injecting that 'old school feel' to their music, referencing such acts as Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath. Says Breecher, "We've made it a point to cut the 'glitz n' glamour' of rock, and keep it real 'organic.' Just guitars, amps, drums, and attitude. You can't get that from a sampler or D. J." With Keith Moon-esque drum work, no-nonsense bass lines, thick guitar riffs, and sincere authentic vocals, their hard work and fresh approach to original rock music drew the attention of indie label Dreamscape Records out of New York City. 'CO5' signed with the label in the spring of 2006 and are currently promoting their latest Dreamscape release 'From the Ashes,' also released in the spring of 2006. The 13 track CD is available through such outlets as CDBaby.com, Napster.com, Walmart.com, and ITunes. That attitude also earned them a spot on one of the major stages at Summerfest in 2008. Summerfest is billed as the world's largest music event, attracting such performers as Stone Temple Pilots, John Mellencamp, Shinedown, Finger Eleven, and John Meyer. Circle of Fifths also opened for Trapt at the historic Majestic Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin in September of 2008. Aside from their original creativity, another marquee of this four piece rock act is their knack for taking other songs and giving them a modern touch, apparent in their renditions of such tunes as Billy Idol's 'White Wedding', Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love, and yes, even Madonna. ''CO5' also plays choice covers from such acts as Led Zepplin, Metallica, Velvet Revolver, and many, many more. 'CO5' looks to push the envelope by seeking exposure to new audiences, while continuing to thrill their fans, 'raise eyebrows,' and create music which is unique and creative, while also being very attainable. As of the summer of 2008, the quartet will begin working on demos for their next release. As of the Fall of 2008, Circle of Fifths is demoing songs for their upcoming CD. An exact release date of the CD and a title is yet to be determined.BOOKING CONTACTS- (608)-897-6880 OR (920)-309-2616, OR THIS MYSPACE.Circle of Fifths uses and endorses these companies and their products....................................................
