FOLIA OF 3 is a group of three singers, friends who promised each other this undertaking a long time ago! With solid musical backgrounds, CACALA CARVALHO, ELIANE TASSIS and MARIANNA LEPORACE met for the first time in the 90..s. Since then, each one has worked on her personal career in addition to developing projects together, fine tuning their partnership and creating greater musical affinity. The project of their first CD took form when they decided to record songs written only by the composer IVAN LINS. He was a unanimous choice because they all consider him a composer of international level. As a thank you for their project, Ivan Lins contributed a never-before-recorded song to the album, "Canção Quase Duas” (Almost Two Songs), in a partnership with the writer Lya Luft. Ivan Lins also recorded one of the tracks, singing "Choro das Águas" with the trio. The vocal arrangements were done by the best arrangers on the current vocal music scene in Rio de Janeiro, thus adding new colors to the music of Ivan Lins. The voices of Cacala, Eliane, and Marianna blend very well together, brightening the grooves of the songs. The name of the group, FOLIA, refers to a typical Brazilian folkloric party. In fact, they used many lively Brazilian rhythms, transforming the CD into a big party, a great “FOLIA”. In short, what we have here is the result of three real talents giving us a great harmonic stroll through beautiful melodies in irresistible Brazilian rhythms.
O trio vocal FOLIA DE 3 formado pelas cantoras CACALA CARVALHO, ELIANE TASSIS E MARIANNA LEPORACE, iniciou sua carreira em novembro de 2005 com o lançamento do CD “PESSOA RARA” em homenagem aos 60 anos do compositor IVAN LINS. O grupo ganhou de presente do autor uma música inédita, em parceria com a escritora Lya Luft, chamada “Canção, Quase Duas”. Ivan também participou do CD, cantando com o trio na faixa “Choro das Águas”.
Com esse trabalho, dirigido por CLAUDIO LINS, o trio realizou uma série de shows pelo Rio de Janeiro, com destaque para a participação especial no show de lançamento do CD “Acariocando” de Ivan Lins no Canecão em 2006.
Além do CD “Pessoa Rara” o Folia de 3 participou da gravação de projetos como:
“Gira” – CD do cantor e compositor EDUARDO FEIJÓ (faixa “Deixá-la, Trazê-la” – 2007);
“Marianna Leporace Canta Baden Powell” – produzido por KASUO YOSHIDA e lançado no Japão em 2006 (Toy’s Factory Music) e no Brasil em 2007 (Mills Records) nas faixas: Berimbau, Tem Dó e Pra Que Chorar;
“Burt Bacharach em Bossa” – produzido por KASUO YOSHIDA com lançamento em 2008, nas faixas One Less Bell to Answer e Medley;
“Nobu” – Cd produzido por KASUO YOSHIDA do cantor japonês Nobu, com lançamento em 2008, na faixa “Chatanooga Tchu Tchu”.O grupo segue com a turnê do CD “Pessoa Rara” enquanto prepara o repertório do próximo CD com lançamento previsto para 2009.
