The Alpine Cretins

About Me

originally started as a band to play in bern, song writing factory and refuge for wayward drunks and lost lyrics, the alpine cretins was at first only a duo. chessy weaver (from mainstream heroes phon roll, and swisspop project honey pump) joined with delaney davidson(otiacs, dead brothers, delemmis caravan basement band) to mix their own twist on country ballads. later joined by boney google brother menic ruttiman(fiddle) and mago fluck (bass fiddle), the band expanded to become a melodic trio with two voices floating around somewhere in the mix... no real lead voice was established, in an everly brothers style harmony attempt. the songs also developed from sweet and personal tunes to finer and more universal themes. the band self imploded halfway though their second recxording. leaving a clear and fine tuned version of the best of their music. never to perform again, the album is hard to place and obviously finding a label for a non existant band is a bit of a problem. self released and also distributed by she'll be right records in new zealand was the fate of the ill starred short lived beauty. img src="http://www.stamfordhistory.org/images/rr_wreck35.jpg"
