Rick Risi

Hi I'm Rick, I'm a singer/songwriter, I was born and raised in Italy where I had my first music training at CPM music school of Milan and at D.A.M.S.(study for the performing arts ) of Bologna, in 1996 I decided to move to Los Angeles where I studied vocal techniques and songwriting at Musicians Institute, in 1998 I moved to London where I still living nowadays and where I started to make music professionally. I'd like to think about music as a cultural blend... my live performance it's mainly me playing acoustic guitar and singing, I might be joined occasionally by other musicians or working with electronic loops. I recorded three albums of my own songs: "Rick Risi I", "A Different Kind of colour", and "Smoke and Tenderness". I don't have a specific style and I hate the question: "what kind of music do you do?". I'd written several scores for art videos, animation and documentaries, also I wrote two poetry collections "The Boat of Empty Sorrow" and "A Cathedral in the Desert", recently I've worked on this project recording and mixing electronic stuff and eastern European folk music called Elektro Balkan journey, at the moment I keep writing and also I do some research about voice production in the folk songs of the Balkans and Mongolian overtones, also I'm a vocal coach and I give private lessons on request.
