About Me

I am a small lady from the green hills of Somerset. The weirdo on the bus usually sits next to me and quite often it's because that weirdo is one of my best friends. I'm often accused of being both a witch and a vegetarian (flattering but in both cases, untrue). I am currently living in Writhlington with my Northern Monkey (yeah, I found him again! It's amazing what positive thinking can do!), although in a few months time we will be leaving these shores to explore the large, strange, foreign land known as "Europe". Once/if we ever return I plan to embrace our shared human traditions and live the nomadic lifestyle - partially in a van and partially in a yurt! (hooray for yurting!!) And after that who knows? I may even join the circus...

My Interests

I'm interested in lots of things but mainly travelling, people, Poi, crystals, Festivals, dressing up, Contact Ball, spirituality (in it's many different forms), theatre (acting and directing), UV craziness, hats and odd brightly coloured clothes and the coming unknown of the shift in consciousness...

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to have a conversation with Marilyn Manson as I get the impression that under that freaky exterior is a really clever mind. Also, Johnny Depp for he is a man of great weirdness and beauty. Apart from that I like meeting all sorts of people (so long as they're not threatening or rude!) The best kind of people to meet are the true "alternative" people, people who have their own ideas about things - I'd like to meet more of them.

Music:

Not to be too predictable but I like all kinds of music! My favorite types span acoustic guitar, rock, funk, folk and psy-trance with some D'n'B, metal and chillout added for good measure. Albums I listen to most at the moment include Incubus, System of a Down, Prodigy, Tenatious D, Pedulum, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Baka Beyond, Infected Mushroom, DJ Yoda, Marilyn Manson, Eminem, Avenged Sevenfold and Circulus. In my opinion though good music is music with something a little different, music that makes you feel something when you listen to it or music that tells you a story. You can find that throughout all kinds of musical genre.

Movies:

I don't watch much TV really but some of my favorite films/DVDs are Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Family Guy, Black Books, Cruel Intentions, Chocolat, Braveheart, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Bill Bailey, Pirates of the Carribean, Eddie Izzard, Mirror Mask, Aladin and Snatch. There's plenty more but I can't be assed to write lists forever!

Television:

Kinda mixed that in with the film bit...

Books:

Lord of the Rings!! (My main geek weakness!) Terry Pratchett also a big favorite. Haven't read many fiction books recently. I'm currently reading "The Universal Soul" which is really interesting if you like far out crazy hippy, spiritual, alternate history type stuff. And I do, so that's ok!

Heroes:

Um, not big on heroes really. I don't think they're really all that healthy! Surely better to aspire to be the best you can be, not the best somebody else can be?!
