About Me

The Berlin tour was real nice. Especially meet the people at Zimt & Zunder. Made me loveable. "Just want to look into YOUR eyes" - That summermelodi is probably on its way and a new song about Berlin and its empty streets is already worked out. What an audience! As to melt into a big Heart. I want to come back! Elias and Daye, thanks for Great music. I had to dance!------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------------T he date for the release of the songs recorded in New York City, is set to sunday 20th of April. Mona do a concert at Café August in Karlstad to celebrate that the recording is available for the public. Three concerts in Berlin is then the start for Mona touring this spring and summer. Sweden and Norway is scheduled and a tour round USA is planned. For more information about booking Mona and buy the live-CD send an e-mail to [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------The New York City Tour in december 2007 was a great tour. Mona played at some scenes in Brooklyn visited Queens and ended the tour at Pianos on Manhattan. A liverecording was done and the releasedate is planned to April 2008.------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------Buy the EP "Child of God" (2006) at www.cdon.com. ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------Mona Nylins voice holds a distinctive character we dont hear often. And when it’s combined with personal original songs that are powerful in their simplicity one wonders why the whole world doesnt know about Mona. -I’ve pretty much been keeping it to myself, says Mona who is now releasing her first official EP on her own label.”Mona with her colouristic deeper, poetic pictures of longing” “Shows courage, a tempo beyond the average exhibitors” “Nylin also delivers a free brushwork, but her colours are stronger and her art has a closer connection to self experienced reality”Mona Nylin is an established visual artist and with a bit of imagination one can by the opinions in the Swedish press get a picture of what her music sounds like.-I have a great need for expression. It’s like I’m flying around in thoughts and feelings if I don’t put them in print and make something of it. My thoughts and feelings take shape in the music, says Mona.As musical references she mentions Joni Mitchell and Emmy-Lou Harris. And Stevie Wonder for the emotional voice and the love at heart. Mona plays all the instruments herself with brilliance and in the studio she works on impulse and the arrangements come through improvisation. On “Child Of God” she has used piano and guitar and then created other sounds by experimenting on the computer.-I guess I’m a singer/songwriter leaning towards ballads but also American folk/pop music, says Mona in an effort to describe her music. I like to give the voice room; it’s what I use to tell my story. Sometimes I want to sing á capella just to make sure the audience hears my message.Mona comes from a genuine musical and artistic family and has performed since her childhood. But when her father passed soon after they’d started performing together it took her many years to enter a stage again. But now she is back and ready for a larger audience. (Una Promotion)-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------Review 2006 Child of God EP..."Sun is risin' over sea" is a genuinely lovely ode to an ocean sunrise, with gentle picking adorned by just a hint of ethereal keys in the background. The contemplation before nature's majesty could be a means of putting heartbreak in perspective, as Nylin sings "Love will show itself again/Let's go out and make it happen." And "Time for you and me" is a very delicate, humble tune that hints of early Joni Mitchell...(Kevin Renick - www.itsatrap.com)------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ -----Review 2006 Child of God EP "Mona Nylins voice is a prayer. Its like a spirit is watching over it, bleading poetry in her words, heart and music and maybe theres a God somewhere inside of her..."
