Die allesamt erfahrenen innerschweizer Musiker (C7inch, Eyelash, Moondart) haben erkannt, worin die Kunst des Musizierens besteht. Sie schreiben Songs - nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Gänsehaut inklusive! «THE MAGIC HOUR» enthält 12 Indie-Rock..n..Pop-Perlen, die sich direkt in deinen Gehörgängen einnisten werden. Sphärisches, pumpendes und clever arrangiertes Liedgut, welches sofort den „Davon will ich mehr“- Effekt auslöst. Dies beweist z.B. ihre Radio-Single «THE REASON» (Nr. 10). Kraftvolle und dennoch filigran prägende Gitarrenriffs, getragen von abwechslungsreichen Bassläufen und differenziertem Drumming. Über all dem thront der unverwechselbare, stets präsente und immerzu leicht melancholische Gesang. Der eigenständige Sound, welcher ihnen von Rob Viso (Mix, u.a. Kandlbauer) und Vincent Sorg (Mastering, u.a. Die Toten Hosen) verpasst wurde, lässt auch ruhigere Songs wie «GOODBYE, GOODNIGHT» (Nr. 11) in der richtigen Stimmung rüberkommen und zeigt, dass Dynamik und Melodie nicht nur leere Phrasen im PILOMOTORVokabular sind. Live überzeugen kann man sich davon z.B. an der Album-Release-Party am 23. April ‘09 in Luzern im Théatre La Fourmi.

PILOMOTOR know no boundaries. With their debut album «THE MAGIC HOUR», they combine the best of the last fifteen years into something which is unique, profound and touching. The band members are experienced musicians from central Switzerland who have formerly been playing in bands like C7inch, Eyelash or Moondart, and they now have realized what making music is all about. They write songs. Not more, not less. Goosebumps included. «THE MAGIC HOUR» contains 12 Indie Rock-n-Pop gems which will get stuck inside your ears right from the moment you begin listening to them. Atmospheric, pumping and cleverly arranged songs that instantly catch the listener, triggering that famous „give me more of that“ effect. The radio single «THE REASON» (Track 10) gives proof for that. Those songs feature powerful, yet delicate guitar riffs, driven by diversified bass lines and differentiated drumming. SLAM & HOWIE and the reserve men - Sie spielen mit dem Feuer, verkaufen ihre Seelen der Musik und kombinieren Dinge, die so nie zusammen gehören dürften. Des Verrats schuldig gesprochen, jedoch der Lynchjustiz knapp entkommen... SLAM & HOWIE and the reserve men melden sich mit ihrem neuen Album «GUILTY» zurück. Zurück? Die Cowboys waren nie weg, sondern rackerten sich im Bastard-Speed-Country-Stollen die Hände wund. Alleine in den letzten zwölf Monaten spielte die Band über 100 Konzerte in ganz Europa (CH/D/A/F/B/CZ/E/I). Der Weg führte sie über mehrere Club-Tourneen bis hin zu den grossen Sommerfestivals (u.a. am Gurtenfestival ’08). Parallel dazu wurde intensiv an neuen Songs gearbeitet. Neue Instrumente wie Mandoline, Banjo und Fiddle wurden eingesetzt. Das Resultat - 13 Country-Songs mit Ecken und Kanten, gespielt mit grosser Leidenschaft. Ein Russischer Seemannschor (Uncle Sam and his beloved Sputnik, Nr. 8) lässt das Blut in den Adern der Country-Oberen gefrieren. Geschichten über todkranke Spieler (Doc Holliday, Nr. 5), vergnügungssüchtige Trunkenbolde (Mardi Gras, Nr. 9) sowie latentes Fernweh (Walk away, Nr. 11 - Radio Single) werden in abwechslungsreicher Cowboymanier umgesetzt. Mit den Coverversionen «Blitzkrieg Bop» (The Ramones) sowie «Story of my life» (Social Distortion) zollte man den Punkrock-Idolen vergangener Tage gebührenden Respekt. Aufgenommen und produziert wurde die Scheibe wiederum von Dave Hofmann in den «Somastudios» (Zofingen). Beim Mastering setzte man auf die Erfahrung von Ed Brooks (RFI Studios, Seattle), welcher schon den «Supersuckers» und «Pearl Jam» den nötigen Druck verlieh. CD-Release-Party ist am 24. SLAM & HOWIE and the reserve men are back with their new album «GUILTY». Are BACK? The cowboys have never been gone; they have been playing their fingers to the bone in several club tours and the big summer festivals. Just in the last 12 months the band played more than 100 shows all over Europe (CH/D/A/F/B/CZ/E/I). While playing gigs they worked hard on new songs. True to the motto «who rests rusts». Life on tour has refined the band and their songs. New instruments such as the mandolin, banjo and fiddle have been introduced harmonizing wonderfully with the electric guitars. A Russian navy choir (Uncle Sam and his beloved Sputnik, No. 8) will freeze the blood in the veins of hardened country fans. Stories about terminally ill gamblers (Doc Holliday, No. 5), party addicted drunks (Mardi Gras, No. 9), as well as a latent urge to travel (Walk away, No. 11 - Radio Single) have been worked out in a diversified cowboy manner. The album includes 13 country-songs with rough edges, played with lots of passion and lots of fun. In tribute to punk-rock-idols The Ramones and Social Distortion two cover songs are included (Blitzkrieg Bop and Story of my life). The disc was once again recorded and produced by Dave Hofmann at «Somastudios» (Zofingen, Switzerland). Never change a winning team.
