About Me

Hello all... My last name is not really James, it's my dad's first name...but I thought it has a cool ring to it. Anyway, you can call me Greg. Just a bit about me: I'm living the life of a rockstar...well, not really... but I am a full time musician playing up and down the East Coast. In January of '09 I will be starting with my new band Lucky You . We are represented by Media Five Entertainment out of Bethlehem,Pa. I hope to see some familiar faces and would love your support! I was recently the bass player for Emily's Toybox for almost 2 years. I continue to support them and you should too!! I was also the guitar player from '04 to '07 for Dingleberry Shortcake I had tons of fun in that band and consider those guys my brothers. I have a wonderful daughter who I love very much... I think she's in to the whole 'Dad being a Rocker' cause she loves the color black and likes shirts with skulls and stuff on....she just turned 8 in January of '09...god does time fly?! She'll be in the spotlight someday! I'm that guy that most who know me calls me to fill in on guitar, bass, drums, or if you need a sound engineer. I'm happy to help when I don't have a gig with the band. Not only am I a guitarist and a bassist and vocalist, my first instrument of choice in 1986 or 7(can't remember lol) was the drums. I'm experienced in lots of styles... I've played drums in all types of bands including rock, country, metal, thrash(yes, I said thrash), disco, and new rock. I would have to say my best ability on the drums is improvising(comes in handy when you don't know a song). I've been playing guitar & bass & singing since 1989 or so. I've played in too many bands to list, so I won't. In the early 90's I started mixing for live bands and have been doing that on and off ever since. I ended up putting a PA together and now have it installed at the West Shore Hardware Bar in Mechanicsburg,Pa. When I'm not playing with Lucky You, you can find me there mixing bands. My interest in mixing live led me to the studio end of the biz and I toyed around with home recordings and eventually became a studio engineer at a central PA studio for almost 2 years. It has since closed(bummer). I shoot and edit tv commercials on the side and still do some studio mixing. I'm the engineer of 'The American Storyteller' Nelson Lauver, a nationally syndicated radio journalist. I mix and master all of his 4 minute story's. I've also done summer shows with singer/songwriter Rhyne McCormick , playing bass or drums. Click on him to check out his site and schedule. I also offer 'Backline' gear for bands. I will have a list up soon of gear I have and also a separate website So... to sum it up, if you need any of my services, send me a message and I'll be happy to help!!

Influences: I was a teenager in the mid 80's so of course I was a fan of 80's metal. Scorpions, Dokken, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Ozzy, Judas Priest, KIX, Tesla, Ratt, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Testament, Wrathchild America, Metallica, and the list goes on...

One band stands out from the rest and that would have to be Aerosmith. They are not my favorite band but I think they are musical geniuses and would love to meet them.

My influences as a drummer would have to be Tommy Aldridge. He's played for many bands including Ozzy. Other drummers I respect are Shannon Larkin, Morgan Rose, Randy Castillo, Rod Morgenstein, Greg Bisonette and...the list goes on...

Shannon Larkin and Sully Erna of Godsmack!!

Watch Shannon Larkin's stick work in this video. He's such a unique player and is why he's in a category all his own!!

I think Rudy Sarzo is an amazing bass player as well as Steve Harris.(if you don't know who these musicians are, just google them!) Tom Hamilton and John Entwistle are other favorites.

As far as guitarist go... I loved Randy Rhoads... George Lynch has a unique style and I think Brad Whitford is so underated. The spot light is always on Joe Perry. My other favorites include Tom Keifer, Slash, Angus and...the list goes on...
Sounds Like:

Here is just one of the American Storytellers 4 min. stories that I mixed.
Check out his site. He's got tons more! Just press play.

This is another track I recorded with Solaris in '05. I'm playing drums on this one and I also ruff mixed it. There are no vox. Just press play.

This is an unfinished mix I did with Rob Brubaker's band SUISONIC. They were a Baltimore based band and have since parted ways. I thought it would be cool to post this track for any 'Sui-fans' out there. You can check out Rob's production company here: PRO Videogroup
