------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------- ~BEST BAND NAME~ -Flying Fetus Fortress:-Your trusty Chronicle A and E editor gets pummeled with more local band names in a year than is healthy for a human mind to endure. Most monikers are good enough to get into the club, but some work better as music repellent than sonic advertisement. This year, from under a Longs Peak-sized heap of press releases and scribbled, urine-stained concert fliers, arose a clear winner: Fort Collins noise punks Flying Fetus Fortress. The Fortress is a successful name for these reasons: 1) masterful alliteration, 2) goofy and dark imagination, and 3) the simultaneously repulsive and captivating imagery of some sort of castle that either loads its cannons with the unborn or acts as an airborne entity that uses babies for bricks. ----The Rocky Mountain Chronicle Editors-------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------
