Here you will get a small glimpse into my life, my true love of music and of my precious daughter and musical soulmate, Paloma!
I am "La Colibri "~ Leticia Margarita, a seasoned and soulful professional vocalist with over 25 years experience in singing, performing, directing and coaching. I was born into a talented musical and theatrical familia, and have worked all my life in pursuit of uplifting the spirit, which one can only find through the arts. Music is in my veins and I am thankful for this precious gift.
I've been blessed with many opportunities to play and collaborate with some of the most amazing musicians this side of the frontera, and can't wait to meet more! I am well respected in the world of Theater, having worked very closely with the artistic and musical directors of El Teatro Campesino, Kinan Valdez, and the renowned playwright and director, Luis Valdez. I have also worked with CSUMB World Theater, Gavilan College Theater and countless musicians and performers throughout the country. I am a vocal director, vocal coach and can take any show, any student to a higher level!
I am the lead vocalist for "Latin Lingo", a Bay Area salsa band. I have grown immensly as a Salsera and a live performer. My debut CD with "Latin Lingo" has won international acclaim with sales in Japan, Australia and Brazil! I work hard at my craft, and am somewhat of a perfectionist when in the studio and on stage. I am a very passionate live performer, and can assure you that no matter the genre, it will be an unforgettable experience! We've been together over 6 years now, and are currently working on individual projects.
I am well versed (no pun intended!) in all genres, ranging from blues, jazz, classical, R&B, salsa, cumbia and ranchera and would like the opportunity to EXPLORE, GROW and CULTIVATE a new sound that embraces my culture, my roots, my sangre and give birth to a fresh, funky and SABROSO SOUND!
I seek musicians who are open to the journey... who want to experience music and all of it's magic with a fresh, soulful energy. I desire to tap into the tapestry of life through original and creative musical masterpieces and look forward to cultivating this with YOU!
