Since his debut on the Montreal electronic music scene in 2005, Malick has earned a reputation for throwing down rock-solid beats at virtually every venue he plays. Spinning since the age of 16, this self-taught prodigy has shown savvy and style way beyond his 23 years. He has played next to some of the world’s greatest DJs, working the turntables with astounding brilliance. At heart, Malick is a House DJ whose passion for music constantly flows with infectious energy. The music is a fusion of Progressive,Tribal and Tech House woven into a sexy tapestry of groovy basslines, deep percussive rhythms and soul-stirring vocals.Since 2006 ,Malick has held a weekly residency at Red-Lite wich is the biggest afterhours club in Montreal with a 2500 people capacity. He spins regurarly at Unity on Saturdays and Stereobar’s “After8†on Saturdays and Sundays where he has firmly established himself as a crowd favorite. During 2006 ,Malick has performed at reputed venues such as Stereo Nightclub, Red-Lite, Unity, Stereobar and Tribe Hyperclub to name a few . Garnering praise from DJs and clubbers alike, Malick’s popularity and growing knowledge of House music has led to gigs on the club circuit in Quebec City (Terminal) and in Cancun ,Mexico where he was choose to headline new years eve at Nectar Lounge.In 2007 Malick was choosen as the only local Dj to play Sensation (a 5000 people event held at Montreal’s Bell centre), where he played with industry giants Roger Sanchez ,Armin Van Buuren ,Pablo Ceballos and Eddie Halliwell.During that year , he also had the opurtunity to share the decks with the elite of electronic music that includes John Digweed, Steve Lawler, Chus & Ceballos, Peter Rauhofer,D-Formation and Offer Nissim just to name a few.Currently in the studio, Malick has a few projects in the making with his production crew The Dots (Malick, Joubin and Moltisanti), due to be release in 2008. The Dots (formed in 2007) will be producing mostly on Nicola Torriero & Joubin’s Montreal-based I/O Recordings label. His studio credits will surely lead to further collaborations with the possibility, in the future, of launching his own label.Malick is undoubtedly one of Montreal’s rising stars.
