Joesmitty

While other musicians are riding on the ban wagon, Inspiring Emcee, Joesmitty is soul searching and creating ways to invade the entertainment business by the storm. Prior to rapping, Joesmitty was a poem and creative scriptwriter. Seven years later, after the death of 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G, two of his favorite rappers, the gifted young man decided to pursuit a career in rapping. One of his goals is to restore the missing pieces that the Hip Hop music has lost, Biggie and 2pac.

The Haitian Born Rapper, who is also a senior at Southern Connecticut State University, has managed to make a name for himself using his incredible talent, which many people admire. His influential lyrics and ingenious punch lines are what draw his fans closer. Coming from a business oriented family, the musician/song writer has a great understanding of the business aspect of the entertainment industry. In 2005, Joesmitty released his first demo CD to get the street’s response. The Inspiring Rapper deemed the Demo as his worst creation. However, the street thought the opposite, and was overcome by his skills.

As a result, in 2007, the rapper, Joesmitty who is also known as Cozyduke, released his first Mix-tape entitled, “This is all I know”vol1, which was a great success. Within the first week of it’s released, one thousand copies sold of the mix-tape throughout Connecticut. This mix-tape has brought Joesmitty more fans than he ever predicted. His buzz has gotten bigger and keeps on spreading like a cancer throughout the Tri-states.

In 2008 while auditioning for 106 and park, freestyle battling show, Joesmitty hands one of the Judges his mix-tape, which led to a phone call from BET to invite the Local rapper to be a contestant on the "Rap City" show, “Spit your game” segment. Unfortunately for Joesmitty, the 1 minute and 20 second that could have gotten him that worldwide exposure he has been waiting for, did not get Air- played due to cancellation of the show.

According to the rapper, Joesmitty “the phone call from BET showed me that I have what it takes to make it happen” and prolong on saying. “That I’m not going to stop, I will keep on writing and making that great music my fans are craving for”. In addition to his hard work, the Emcee’s is currently working on his sophomore mix-tape which schedule to be dropped toward the end of summer 2009.
