Very few German acts ever make it in the United States of America, and the ones who do are regularly sort of typically German. One of the few exceptions is LAKE. Why would Americans fall in love with foreigners, who “just†sound American, when they have such a wide range of high profile bands at home? You not only have to be good, you have to be better than the rest!
In the Seventies LAKE made their way to the US Billboard charts and toured the States with the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd or Hall & Oates. Quitting time came with the sad passing of frontman James Hopkins-Harrison in 1991.
But now LAKE is on the run again. Performing new songs from their 2005 comeback release “The Blast Of Silence†– mixed with old time faves. This new line up fears no comparison with the famed original.
PS: Please watch out for a DVD live recording (what a surprise, it's called: "LAKE. Live!") and finally "Blast Of Silence" can be found in US stores from March, 2008 on.
Planning to release a new studio album in 2009.
