Our culture is concerned with matters of self-esteem. Self-respect, on the other hand, may hold the key to achieving the peace of mind we seek. The two concepts seem very similar but the differences between them are crucial.To esteem anything is to evaluate it positively and hold it in high regard, but evaluation gets us into trouble because while we sometimes win, we also sometimes lose. To respect something, on the other hand, is to accept it. I enjoy singing and do so quite frequently. As those within earshot will attest,I'm not very good but I love to sing anyway. I frequently sing solo and play my instruments, trying to stay just ahead of my music I provide the words for those who don't know....
I am not saddened by my lack of fame or not being the best singer. I accept the way I sing. Because of this acceptance, I am able to sing without being evaluative of myself or concerned with what others think. The word acceptance suggests to some readers that our culture does indeed deal with this idea of self-respect;after all, don't we have the concept that it is important to accept our limitations? Aren't many of us encouraged "to change the things we can change, accept the things we cannot change and know the difference between the two?" points to the advantages of self-respect. Compared to those with high self-esteem who are still caught in an evaluative framework, those with self-respect are less prone to blame, guilt, regret, lies, secrets and stress.Many people worry whether there is life after death. Just think about it: If we gave up self-evaluation, we could have more life before death.
Ilectofhim Production-I was born in GeorgeTown GUYANA, the second of five children. All my childhood musings, adventures and pranks had musical overtones. At school I joined the steels orchestra. At the age of 10 I was doing well, mastering all the different instruments in the steel orchestra, developing a natural ability to play and even sing at the same time. By the age of 15 I was able to do it all, arranging and teaching other newcomers how to play. Next I switched my attention to the guitar. It was a grueling task, being a self taught musician, but I persevered. I began writing my own compositions.
In 1980 I was a founding member of the ILECT OF HIM crew, consisting of myself and 6 other musicians. We played together for over a decade before we split up and all went our separate ways. Now I am based in both the UK (Bedford) and US (Detroit)- progressing my musical career as a singer, songwriter, arranger, musician and just about every other thing musical.
I have many years worth of compositions that I have written. I feel it is my duty to teach LOVE, RESPECT and UNDERSTANDING through my music to this generation and generations to come, who struggle with life. I am now riding with the ALMIGHTY FATHER. I do my utmost best to spread my music for the world to listen to it. I have now had the pleasure to work with artists like Truth, Kareena, Tamarra, Anton (Noughty) and many others. I will do my best for the ALMIGHTY, you all, & I self.
The title of my debut CD is "Think About The Time" which is one of the songs on my album. I wrote this song to relay a message to the younger generation that crime does not pay, think about the consequences. "Think It Over" was written by Ginny Augustin and it was inspired by a high profile crime in London when a African youth lost his life over the jacket he was wearing. I wrote "Ghetto Child" when I was 16 years old and this song has a lot of meaning to me due to the life my family was living at the time. "Live Clean" was inspired from a conflict with another Rasta man. All of my songs are written based on a combination of what I have experienced in life and also my viewpoints on humanity and how to make this world a better place to live. .

Being selfish is bad for you and becoming less selfish makes you happier. So, paradoxically, true self-interest happens when you become less selfish. The point is it helps others but it also helps you to be less selfish.

Knowledge, Understanding, and Wisdom
To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit. Scripture often uses the words knowledge, understanding, and wisdom interchangeably, but occasionally they are spoken of as separate and distinct. Thus, it may be useful to attempt to define the differences of meaning. Knowledge is the facts. Understanding is the ability to lift the meaning out of the facts, and Wisdom is knowing what to do next.
Since JAH rarely gives all three gifts to any person, we need to cooperate and assist each other with our particular gift--in this, as in every area.

How did I come to the Ites of RasTafari?
RasTafari came to I when mentally I self had had enough, InI had many losses many belated truths unfolded and the hurt of a biological parent. It was then that InI was able to see the hands stretched out to I by H.I.M, InI was able to see the almighty in full glow, he showed I love, he showed I strenght mentally and physically and he showed I dat I am righteous and blessed. We Boboshanti are the churchical order of Rastafari, our order is different to all others, we dress differently, we present ourselves differently we even greet each other differently. Our bodies are the vessels of our souls, remember, 'godliness is cleanliness' we must keep our temple clean from marks, piercing or any other unclean material things, this is why we must cover our bodies properly, at home and especially in public where there is plenty people. King & Queens are told to dress properly also to keep people from having impure thoughts especially the Queens. The Empress should dress properly at home and in public, from head to toe, with a nice long skirt and long sleeve shirt and their turban, most Empress would just wear a robe right through the day. The Kings should wear long pants with long sleeve or short sleeve if in public around plenty people. At home the Bredrens & Sistrens can relax a little bit, and don't have to dress covered, but should keep it as holy & clean as possible.

I would say for the best information on relationships, to read the laws for the man and woman in the testament and in Ecclesiastes. If a bredren wanted to link up with an Empress she should be sighting Rastafari or should have room for the change, he/she does not have to be Rasta at first, you can teach her about it and about Selassie I.

I often Iditate and the role of women in the Rastafari tradition. INI think a lot of time women are left out of important decision. The voice of everyone should be important. INI must be careful how INI follow Judeo-chritianity rules. INI read the bible because INI write the bible. event thought the Ible have a great influence and INI, INI have to listen to the voice of righteousness that come from the source of truth within. InI know that all people is created equal.
Self reliance is the cry from the advent of the movememt. HIM told us collective security. So the time has come for us to work together to carry out His MAjesty works.

Rastafari and Race:-
There are Rastafarian people of all colors, backgrounds and races. Although the Rastafarian Movement is rooted in its Afrikanness , Rastafarianism is not a racist doctrine, it is not promulgating reverse racism. The essence of Rastafari is love, love for all forms of life (creation), which comes in a diverse array of colors, shapes, textures and vibrations. The struggle against racism is linked to the struggle against sexism, it is linked to struggle against colonialism. The struggle of the Rastafari Movement is one against fear, it is one against all forms of imperialistic exploitation and manipulative oppression. The struggle of the Rastafarians is linked to the struggle of the Palestinians; it is linked to the native Americans, to the Aborigines in Australia.
It is the common struggle against oppression and exploitation that links us together as brothers and sisters. It is this sense of revolutionary brotherhood that enabled Fidel Castro to contribute Cuban resources in aid of the Afrikan liberation in the 2nd half of the 20th century. It is this revolutionary brotherhood that enabled Vietnam Leader Ho Chi Minh to sympathize with Garvey and to attend some of his meetings in the USA. It is this revolutionary spirit that has bonded together Rastafarians from diverse races and backgrounds and made Rastafari a powerful catalyst for positive change throughout the world. Rastafari has demonstrated unique abilities in being able to transcend the barriers of race, class, religion, sex and creed.
