Myspace Comments | Myspace Graphics | Myspace SurveysI got into Happy Hardcore back in 1996, through listening to tapes back then. One of my favourites was DJ Sy & MC JD Walker after listening to this set it give me the influence. Shortly after this I decided to buy my first pair of decks, which were citronic belt, drives, I used these decks for about 7 months. I progressed into using direct drive decks, which were made by Sony. By 1998 I had my first proper booking the event was called House of Vibe based at Empress Ballroom (Mexborough). I was DJing alongside the legendary Simon C, now a days he DJs at kids parties etc.I remember DJing in front of 250 people, which was a very daunting task. The crowds seem to really enjoy my set, which I was pleased about. After a discussion at the end of the night I was asked to play every event and this is where I secured my first ever residency. I was asked by the club manager to DJ on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays with Simon C. I had control of 3 rooms, Chill Room consisted of 150 people, Ballroom 450 people, Main room 300 people. I continued this residency till mid 2000 when finally the club closed down because of mis-management.In late September 2001 me and J-DJ (formerly known as Jazzy J) launched an event called 'Invasion' covering all aspects of Hard Dance the venue was the Basement Bar in Mexborough. Every event we did was packed out; we even had to turn people away because of the size of the venue. This event lasted for 7 weeks due to the club not having an entertainment’s licence. After this I continued with record buying and doing the occasional house parties etc.July 2002 saw the launch of 'Magnetic' covering all the harder underground dance music based in and around the South Yorkshire area. DJs that played at this event were the likes of Jay Prescot ( promoter of Totally Lost It - Manchester), Simz (Dizstruxshon), Gaz James (GBH - Night Time published by Quosh records), Martin Space (Distinctive Vinyl), MCs included MC Natz, MC 3-Style, Domer, MC Space this is to name a few far too many others to mention, you know who you are. The event lasted until July 2003 and was very popular.Between 2003 - 2005 I played at various events including Totally Lost It (Manchester), TFI (Doncaster), Dhamnation (Barnsley), Defiance (Hoyland), Hardcore UK Energy (Mansfield). Baring in mind I took time out to concentrate on my job.2006 - 2007, we came back with the phenomenal EXPOSURE event, I teamed up with my good friend Wez (DJ X-Statik) to create this event which specialized in Hardcore/Trance/Hard Dance/Hard Style/Classic Trance/Bouncy Techno/Drum & Bass. The residents were myself and X-Statik alongside guest such as: - Martin Space, Gaz James, Kryptik, MC's E-LL, Space, 3-Style. Past DJs & MCs who have performed are: - DJ Paul-O, Joey Riot, M-Zone, CLSM aka John Doe, Arkitech, DJ Sy all of the above producers have been apart of the underground dance scene spanning since 1988 or even longer & majority are internationally known.
One of my highlights as a promoter of EXPOSURE was sucessfully promoting the 1st ever full female dj lineup in south yorkshire on 23rd december 2006 something that im very proud of.Also i still run an under 18's event by the name of RESONANCE & EXPOSURE which was made the number 1 under 18's rave event in ENGLAND 2007.THE NEXT STEP IN MY QUEST FOR QUALITY UNDERGROUND DANCE MUSIC WAS THE REVOLUTION which was originally started as Uprising back in 1995 by DJ PAUL-O & KENNY SHARP, i teamed up with the ledgendary PAUL-O TO GIVE THE RAVE SCENE EXACTLY WHAT IT NEEDED A MASSIVE KICK UP THE ARSE & PROVIDE A NITE THAT'S WORTHY OF BEING CALLED A REVOLUTION. WE HAD DONE 5 EVENTS & WAS A MASSIVE SUCCESS. THIS EVENT HAS SINCE BEEN PUT ON THE SHELF DUE TO BOTH MYSELF & PAUL HAVING OTHER COMMITMENTS.
