ARTIST BIO:Beautiful, intelligent and unique, Aneela is an international artist and an entertainer in every sense of the word. This multi-talented singer/songwriter, composer, and co-producer is at the same time a passionate devotee to human right activities.Aneela was born and raised in Denmark to Muslim Parents, and therefore grew up in a multi-cultural environment.Being a Scandinavian Danish Pakistani Muslim female musician, she had the privilege of being exposed to, and influenced by music from both East and West.Aneelas musical style represents different lyrical genres, Cultures, and languages, proving that music is indeed a universal language.Using her music, her drive and talent, Aneela strives to work against prejudice, discrimination and injustice on all levels.She rose to fame in 1998 as a part of the Danish multi-platinum selling group Toy-Box. Toy-Box soon became a worldwide success with sales exceeding 4.5 million albums. The genre was the bubblegum mid 90’s pop that was at the time significantly dominating the Scandinavian music scene.Among a large number of hits from both the first album “Fantastic” and the second album “Toy-ride” the most prominent ones are “Tarzan and Jane”, “Best Friend”, “Sailor Song”, and “Teddy Bear”.In 2004 Danish National TV made a documentary (Musik in X-sil”) about her music and her persona.Aneela began her solo career in 2005 releasing her first single “Jande” which had already appeared on two Swedish movie soundtrack named “Heartbreak hotel” and “Bombay Dreams”. The soundtrack for Bombay Dreams also included the title track” Bombay Dreams” feat. Arash and Rebecca, as well as a Ballade “ Jo hum chup hain”By the end of the same year Aneela made her entry into Bollywood with style, creating serious amount of attention with her single” Say na” appearing on the Bollywood Block Buster “Bluff Master”. This track took her to yet another level of success, and is now considered a celebration track, a “must have on play list number” at every wedding and sangeet night.In 2006 she wrote and sang a song for the American soundtrack of the Danish movie “Efter Brylluppet”, by the highly respected producer Susanne Bier. The movie was the first Danish movie ever to be nominated for an Oscar.Aneela has recently released her first solo album ”Mahi”.
