Hawaii-mor & fultjacket

At first there was only Hawaii-mor, a spiritual lady from the island of Jamaica. She realest a bluegrass album called “My bluegrass music will kick your reggae ass” in spring 1958. The neighbourhood hated her and accused her of betraying her reggae roots. After a concert in Kingston, that ended when Hawaii-mor sang her own bluegrass favorit “Haile Selassie doesn’t have all the answers” the crowd rushed the stage, she fled Jamaica. In spring 1959 she came to Sweden and settled down in a small town called Hallstahammar. There she meet and married the famous singer Tore Skogmans brother Kjell Skogman who still works as a “sopgubbe” at Rangsells. She put aside her music and raised 12 children who all became weird or “knäpplundaknallare” as the locals referred them as. On new years eve 1999 her husband Kjell slept with the neighbours wife Anita and the marriage was over. She broke Kjells nose and left the family and moved to Hallonbergen, Stockholm. It was now she became a drunk and tjackpundare. She roamed the streets and bars in search of tjack and kicks. On late night at the local waterhole Skeppsbar in gamla stan she meet Jonny, Sonny, Ronny and Bertil Nordstrom who would later become her band, fultjacket. Hawaii-mor started to write songs about her life after the divorce and her tjackaddiction. By Christmas eve 2007 Hawaii-mor & fultjacket realest a 3 songs Ep, “Hawaii-mor goes unplugged”. All Sweden’s music journalists screamed in happiness, quotes like “This is the shit!” “Hawaii-mor rules!” filled the tabloids.
