About Me

Bridget Kearney is a jazz, folk, bluegrass, rock and heavy metal acoustic bass player and songwriter living in Brooklyn, NY. Bridget is the bassist for Lake Street Dive, Cuddle Magic, bluegrass band Joy Kills Sorrow, jazz/rock piano trio Still Life, hammered-dulcimer pop-folk band Stickerbox, silly-mascot-suit-wearing ragtime band The Xylopholks, psychedelic indie-rock band Manson Family Picnic, wikipedia-inspired educational band Books on Tape and the over-production inspired Shiny Tiny, among other things. All of these bands are listed below under "top friends" and you can hear their songs on them. Bridget wrote many of the songs on those pages, including L.S.D.'s number one hit "Sometimes When I'm Drunk and You're Wearing My Favorite Shirt" Grand Prize Winner of the 2006 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Bridget is from Iowa City, IA and went to school in Boston, MA at The New England Conservatory and Tufts University and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
