The Smashing Pumpkins is a band which formed in Chicago in 1988.The band has seen several changes , they have consisted of Billy Corgan (vocals/guitar), James Iha (guitar/vocals), D'arcy Wretzky (bass/vocals) and Jimmy Chamberlin (drums/percussion) for the majority of their recording career. The bands elements are very diverse from gothic rock, heavy metal, dream pop, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, shoegazer-style production and, in later recordings, electronica. 2001 Rotten Apples (Greatest Hits) Since MACHINA /The Machines of God The band had went their own ways . Billy Corgan then form the band Zwan in 2001 but the band was short lived and departed in 2003. In 2005 Billy released a solo album titled The Future Embrace. As of now Jimmy Chamberlin and Billy Corgan are in the studio recording the next pumpkins album which is do out this year 2007.
