About Me

Dale Ankele (sounds like ank-lee) is a singer/songwriter who grew up in Chicago's northwest suburbs. He picked up his first guitar at age 5, and hasn't put it down as yet. "Music has always been a big part of my life" says Ankele. "It's like learning to walk I suppose...it's just something I could always do." He played with numerous Chicago and Midwest based bands throughout the 60's and 70's and has written songs most of his life. "It's as much a part of me as taking a breath of fresh air... I'm sure it will last as long as I do says Ankele."Cute Myspace Layouts

He played on TV, cut records, played concerts and summertime carnivals during my early childhood. I remember going to bed with my window open on warm summer nights so I could hear his band playing at the carnival in the park near our house. I was thrilled to get his autograph. In later years, I ran into Mr. Atcher and told him the story about how he had inspired me to pick-up a guitar at age 5. He was quite interested in my story. The guitar has always been a part of me... something I just can't quite get enough of. Thanks Bob...
