These two men, Sidney and Dominic, went on to record a compilation of four songs that would inherently define the true experience it is to listen to Magmacore. They were very proud of the "Intestinal Track EP" and created this page to potentially grow their fanbase. True listeners even purchased the EP for a minimal amount of money.
Dominic and Sidney knew something big had been created by only two individuals. The true anger and frustration in Dominic's voice and lyrics was well captured by songs such as "Intestinal Track," "Silent Soul," and "Blood On My Hands." As well, Sidney created chord progressions that would make any listener know that it was Abusive Magma they were listening to as soon as the song started.
There was rest for a bit after the release of the EP. Ideas flung back and forth between the bandmates and rumors continued to grow about a full length AM CD. However, the Magmar found themselves very busy, only occasionally able to record songs like the infamous "History Month." The magic had not dissapeared, so when the pressure was on Abusive Magma went full force to finish their premier record.
And what an accomplishment it was. Released on October 30th, 2007, "An Open Love Letter on Your Bleeding Casket" grossed over 15 copies in it's first week on the market. Sidney and Dominic created a beautiful story on this record that any fan could hear, they paint the soundtrack to the lives of two teenagers that are in love and that lose that love. Dominic's voice is as strong as ever on this CD, his lyrics and intensity bring life to tracks like the seaborn "Give Me The Loot, I Don't Need It Anyway," a somber love-story put into song, "The Diary," and raw crunching magma, "The Grasp." Sidney shines as well, creating choppy and beautiful melodies in songs like the club-stomper "SPIT HACK Venom," the jazzy "S.C.E.N.E." and the perfect ender "Then War."
Nobody expected a band consisting of two people and an acoustic guitar to make it this far, but the future looks bright for these younguns today.
WE HATE STEPHEN THORNQUIST.
