About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Acoustic Guitar

This is my acoustic side project! Been thinking about doing it for a few years now- just decided it was time. My main gig is playing drums and singing for Down to Here around the Omaha area- you can find that myspace page in my friend's section.I grew up in a musical family with my Dad gigging a few times a month with a band that contained his mother (my Grandma), several cousins, and an uncle. My Grandfather used to be the drummer, but passed away when I was about 4. Grandma needed to find a new home for his drums, so Dad brought them home and I immediately started messing around on them. I raided Dad's album collection and became hooked on early ZZ Top and Doobie Brothers- these are my earliest memories of trying to play along! Naturally, I ALWAYS wanted to go with Dad to his gigs. When possible, he would take me to a gig and then bring me back to Grandma's on his break. I would stand back behind the drummer and just watch and study. Once in awhile they would allow me to get up and play a song or two- this used to freak people out because I was young- 8 or 9 and I was kind of small for my age. Dad decided to leave the family band and I started playing with him at about age 13 and did so all the way through High School. So instead of racking up miles on my car by cruising on weekends, I was playing 'Old School' Country and classic Rock. I went to college and studied music for 2 years before deciding I didn't want to be a teacher, and I had a chance to go travel the midwest- so that's what I did! I was a full time musician for about 7 years playing from Canada to Texas and Colorado to Kentucky. Drums are by far my strength, but thankfully my Dad started showing me chords on a guitar when I was about 12. The cool thing about guitar is that I can sit and play an actual song by myself! So over the years I've managed to learn more and more on guitar and became interested in finger picking- in the style of Lindsay Buckingham and James Taylor.

Band Members: A true musician, Jeremy Ehrig grew up surrounded by music. His father, Tony, played guitar in a band on weekends with a family band consisting of his mother and father (Jeremy’s Grandparents), an uncle, and two cousins. After the passing of Grandfather Leo Ehrig, his drums found their new home in young Jeremy’s basement. At age 4, this was the start of a musical venture that is still going today. At about age 12, Jeremy started learning guitar from his father. By age 14 you could find Jeremy playing drums in the band with his father all over Northwest Iowa. There were other numerous musical endeavors that led Jeremy to study music after graduating high school. In two years of college, he had enough performance credits to graduate with a four year degree. However an opportunity to travel and perform lured Jeremy out of school. The next 7 years were spent traveling the Midwest performing in 16 states, picking up valuable life lessons and musical experience. The ‘Jeremy on Guitar’ project is the culmination of years of experience, hard work, and countless hours of practice encompassing ALL of the talents realized in those years. Jeremy can be seen singing and playing a song on guitar, while playing bass drum and tambourine with his feet! There are also some pre-recorded backing tracks, all performed by Jeremy, featuring drums and bass guitar. Add to that over 20 years of stage performance and you have a can’t miss combination that will dazzle audiences of any kind, in any setting.
Influences: For booking info, email at [email protected] or call 712-310-7185. Some of my many influences- Pretty much love any band that can strip it down to a couple of guys on guitar and still make it work. I LOVE watching Ritchie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi, James Taylor, the Beatles, Train, John Mayer, Dan Fogelberg, Led Zeppelin
