This Way Forward are: Jess Borlin & Steve Taylor who met each other 4 years ago through a mutual friend. Jess entered the world of music at the age of 5 when she started the piano followed by violin. However through school musicals/productions found that singing/songwriting was the road that was leading her. Jess first began with vocal classical training followed by 3 years with the Jaanz School of Singing. After writing and recording pop with a high school friend for 3 years she found her style was more alternative and started working on her own. She then met Steve.. Originally from Traralgon, Victoria, Steve picked up the Violin at the age of 6 and worked his way up the ranks of 2 leading local orchestras. At the age of 15, Steve was asked to lead the Violin section with "Joining the Chorus" which showcased 3 shows at the Melbourne Tennis Centre in front of thousands. Also at the age of 13, he discovered a his love for Guitar- and the Rock'N'Roll world of music. Many bands soon followed covering multiple styles, until finding a mix of Classical & Rock was his forte! Later, Steve was asked to join Australia's best Irish Rock band - Tiganora -where he carved it up on stage for 3 solid years with the violin to pay his way until he met the wonderful talents of Jess!!After meeting & both coming out of their other bands/duos they found their styles to be similar and therefor started writing and combining their original songs. Steve and Jess have been in the studio recording their current album, a collaboration of acoustic rock, pop/punk rock styles. In the past few months they have been gaining some live experience with acoustic performances around melbourne venues. Welcome to This Way Forward ...
