About Me
I started playing at around 3yrs. old in my parents house just down the road from the AP Carter Family fold and homeplace. (near Bristol VA/TN for those of you who haven't a clue what that is) At about 4, I was "diagnosed" LOL... with Perfect Pitch. We had no idea what that was. It turned out to be the biggest blessing "and" curse I would ever know. i.e. (out of tune ceiling fans, lawnmowers, cassette and other tape players, PIANOS and such). But, I have been tested and was able to accurately identify up to 11 "nonsense" notes together all at the same time. At about 13 I was blessed to meet Charlie and Alan Maggard (Maggard Sound Studio in Big Stone Gap, VA) where I got my first job as a studio pianist, producer and engineer. I actually got to work as an engineer on a Ralph Stanley album at about 15. That is where I also played on and produced some records for Jesse McReynolds, (Opry member "Jim and Jesse" and Mandolin virtuoso). Skip a couple of years and I moved to Nashville, where I started doing studio, stage, and television work with many talented people I am blessed to now call friends. I have recorded with/produced or played with many great artists either on television, records (CD's) or stage. To name a few without bragging too hard. Alan Jackson, Dolly Parton, George Jones, Clay Walker, Buddy Emmons and The Swing Shift Band, Joe Diffie, Steve Wariner, Alison Krauss, Keith Whitley, Shania Twain, Diamond Rio, Marty Balin (of Jefferson Starship), Terri Clark, John Conlee, Toby Keith, John and Audrey Wiggins, Rhonda Vincent, Jerry Reed, Johnny Paycheck, Trisha Yearwood, Brooks and Dunn, Billy Currington, Jo Dee Mesina, Lee Ann Womack, Vince Gill, Larry and The Gatlin Brothers, TG Shepard, BJ Thomas, Ricky Skaggs, The Whites, Kenny Hinson, THE Hinsons, Dottie Rambo, Buck Rambo, The Happy Goodmans, Gene Watson, Ray Price, Faron Young, Dottie West, Harley Allen, Deborah Allen, Clinton Gregory, Eddie Rabbit, John Anderson, Brent Mason, Aaron Tippin, Darryl Singeltary, Steven Curtis Chapman, The Dunaways, The Days, Bruce Haynes, White River, The Crabb Family, The Geezinslaws, Ken Mellons, Eddy Arnold, Sonny James, The Ruppes, Wesley Dennis, Lisa Brokop, Gold City, The Florida Boys, Wendy Bagwell, Charlie Rich, Connie Smith, Marty Stuart, Charley Pride, Little Jimmy Dickens, Jeanne Seely, The Gaither Vocal Band, Mark Wills, Marty Raybon, Roy Acuff, Bill Anderson, Lynn Anderson, Celinda Pink, Crystal Gayle, The Hemphills, Walt Mills, The Issacs, The Martins, David Staton, The Spencers, Priority, Dann Huff, Keith Stegall, Jerry Douglas, A TEAM HEROES: Hargus "Pig" Robbins, Harold Bradley, Jimmy Capps, Pete Wade, Buddy Harmon, Jr. Huskey, Owen Bradley, etc......and most any Opry or Gospel star you can name.
