Ravvy is on his way to becoming strong competition for artists everywhere. He was raised on the island of Antigua in the West Indies, The most dominant musical perspectives in Antigua are soca, calypso, reggae and zouk. Of these, one of the most widely known bands in Antigua were the Burning Flames whose genre was mainly soca/zouk: Ravvy first inspiration. In his youth, he would mimic the Burning Flames using instruments that he had created, hoping one day to ride on the trucks with the bands during carnival time. Now he is seeing his dream being manifested through his music. Not only is Ravvy a performer of dancehall but he is a product of its roots. His music adopts a dancehall reggae style whose popularity has been on a steady increase in the United States with the emergence of artists such as Beenie Man and Sean Paul, other influences of Ravvy. He possesses their same creativity however, his music pivots on the edge of mainstream dancehall with its incorporation of different tastes that reveal his eclectic background. In songs such as Ordinary Girl, Ravvy boldly transfuses dancehall reggae with rock music. Also, in songs like Let Me In, he easily incorporates hip hop with a dancehall background and in Dancin Close, he transforms a conventional dancehall song into a dancehall/R&B love ballad. Writing his own songs and making his own beats, Ravvy is looking to satisfy and surpass his influences, turn his back to failure and to become a powerful force in the music industry.
