I was born in 1769 on Corsica, but I came to detest the very island that I was born and chose France as my home. I became noticed for my artillery tactics in 1785 and again in 1793 when I seized the fortified harbor of Toulon. I made my way through the ranks with my military expertise and charisma. I named myself sole Consul and Emperor of France, which was approved by the people through plebiscite. In 1799 I imposed a new constitution and centralized the French government. I also revised the legal system by creating the massive Napoleonic Code (Civil Code), which is still in force in France today. I also brought religion back to France through the Concordat of 1801 which was agreeded upon by Pope Pius VII. Austerlitz is the pride and joy of all my battles. People often debate wether I crowned or crushed the French Revolution. I crowned it.
