So, I've been in Southern Cal for one year now. I'm currently working on my Master's Degree in music at cal state Long Beach, where I'm also teaching the percussion methods course and directing the Freshman percussion ensemble. Drumset has always been my first true love, but I also work very hard on hand percussion and classical percussion.
My jazz combo was featured, a few months ago, on KKJZ's "The ones to watch." Other than that I'm working on a few smaller projects as well as a ton of ensembles at the school: Concert Jazz Orchestra, CJO jazz combo, steel pan group, world percussion ensemble, percussion ensemble and wind symphony.Before Long Beach I got my undergrad at Lawrence University in Wisconsin; I majored in percussion performance and music education.Musically, I consider myself a modern drummer and try to be competent in all styles. I've worked very hard on my jazz playing, but I also love to play, and have been in Salsa, R&B, Hip-Hop and Rock groups.
