Its about looking damn good, and feeling even better.
Wishing For a Star to Wish Upon: Part 1
And she waits by the shore
for her man to come by.
Picking rocks for her vanity
from the pale green water.
Its a temporary escape from the city
and she knows it won't last forever.
The cool ocean breeze
sends chills down her legs.
Wishes he could do the same to her
by simply passing by.
But he doesn't pass her by.
Leaves her waiting til the sunset dies.
The ships in the distance
and the driftwood on the shore
A reminder that nothing lasts forever.
She finds hope that he will find her soon,
beneath the pale moon light.
But the clouds cover the moon again tonight.
And she returns to the city just like last night.
She dreams of the movie life
With well-scripted lines to play with your heart
And morning kisses that could make your day.
But she'll never find her star.
Let alone be one.
And when the daydream ends
She opens her eyes
to the blinking lights in the distance.
A reminder that some things never change.
As the lights glimmer
gently over the still water.
She places the stones on her vanity.
And she closes her eyes to drift asleep.
"Maybe tomorrow the moon will shine.
Maybe tomorrow I'll find my star."
A Star To Wish Upon: Part 2
She awakes from a dream
of a boy with dark eyes.
And she lets out a sigh
as her heart nearly dies.
But today the sky is filled
with only the most brilliant of blues,
And the sun reflects off her face,
as she reads her morning news.
She takes her daily horoscope
and posts it on the wall.
"Today will be a perfect ten,
your greatest day of all."
Shes never believed in fairy tales,
Nor in heaven or in hell.
Though true love always made her dream
she only found it in a shell.
As the sun dies down
and the moon follows through,
She gathers her ambitions,
and leaves as good as new.
Shes Shoreline bound,
just like last night.
Once again escapes the city
to watch the distant lights.
Arriving at her usual spot,
notices something strange.
A boy with dark hair,
and a tie to rearrange.
Hes picking shells from the sand,
that were washed up from the sea.
And she suddenly feels like an actress,
as if scripted, its too good to be.
She takes a deep breath
and approaches the dark haired boy.
Beneath the pale moonlight,
she speaks, in a voice so coy.
He catches her eyes and smiles her way
he knew exactly how to bring her to her knees.
He opens his hand to reveal his findings,
as the wind blows gently through the trees.
He offers her a shell in the shape of a heart.
And places it in her palm, as if to demand.
Its at that moment she realizes,
that he has her heart in his hands.
And they go their seperate ways,
blowing kisses from afar.
And she settles into bed.
Tonight she found her star.
