About Me


Robert currently plays with the John Colianni Quintet and the Craig Greenberg Band, as well as other freelance ventures. Robert has worked with the Tom Cunningham Orchestra, The Joker's Wild, the James Bazen Big Band, the Colin Lippy trio, the New Columbia Swing Orchestra, Doc Scantlin's Imperial Palms Orchestra & the Paul Wingo trio while living in the DC area. Other career highlights include jamming with Les Paul, appearing on the WB Program Young Americans, playing in the house band on the TV program Baltimore Saturday Night, and serenading the Delta Delta Delta sorority at the University of Maryland.
Roberts album credits include Merry Christmas: Take One, & The Wednesday Night Pizza Band, with the James Bazen Big Band, Mostly Benny, with the New Columbia Swing Orchestra, and Live in DC, with the Joker's Wild.
Robert Wagner was born and raised in the DC area. He attended New York University and the University of Maryland, studying with such jazz legends as Rufus Reid, Keter Betts, and Steve Novosel. At the University of Maryland, he played with the University's top big band under the direction of Chris Vadala.
