About Me
SINGER/SONGWRITER ...
This young beauty, unlike others never discovered her talent….her talent had got a hold of her! Dressing up in her Mothers clothes, posing for the Camera and prancing around their living room being center stage of attention, was her initial glimpse into her destiny.
Heavily influenced by Gospel music, Samantha has the ability to sing, write & and deliver. Having the church congregation as her foundation, she quickly developed her own signatory style. She discovered her gift for songwriting and began recording her first songs on her father’s ghetto blaster and using what seemed like, an endless supply of cassette tapes.
Shy and very much reserved, Samantha spent numerous years hiding her talent; it just wasn’t something she openly discussed or shared with people. With lose and tragedy in the family, Samantha took time out to rekindle her love with music and has since developed into a (fine) artist with a compelling story to tell.
In a bid to raise awareness of her talent on the underground, Samantha worked with underground MC’s, featured on mix-tapes and DVD’S. But still dissatisfied with her efforts, Samantha decided the best move was to seek the professional services.
So madam hooked up with successful urban producer OD Hunte, critically acclaimed for numerous credits working with many major labels and artists i.e. X Factors Leona Lewis, SAS (Roc-A-Fella) Nina Jayne and Javine Hylton to name a few.
After waiting 1 ½ years to work with OD, they commenced work in mid August 2006 and they quickly established a sound based on their common ground in music. It was not long before her anticipated EP was put together. Writing from the soul, the duo completed the tracks in just 7 days. Yo!
As a result of the quality of the records produced, Samantha submitted her tracks to the biggest urban showcase, In the City Urban supported by Manchester United player, Rio Ferdinand.
Samantha performed in front of music industry personalities at Pitcher and Piano (Manchester) after soaring through thousands of demos. She headlined the event with the likes of N-Dubz, Duane Flames, Sound Ninjas very own Raptor, Doctor, Stylo G and more.
If that is anything to go by, Samantha auditioned for a place in South Coast Idols “Live and Unsigned†competition based in Southampton in February 2007. After a successful audition, she managed to beat off 10,000 hopefuls for a place in the Semi Finals in Southampton which only saw twenty successful candidates.
Unfortunately, our star did not win, but she walked away with raving reviews and comments from the judges.
Now you have to admit, this Gem has a craftsmanship! She has a flamboyant way with words, tells a great story, and gives you visuals to work with!CHECK OUTwww.inthecityurban.co.uk
