As an extension of the digital platform and global network of the Metronomic Family , which is proposing quality nights around the world for the last 4 years (held in Canada, Belgium, UK or Sweden), we thought it was time to set-up a new residency in our beloved city of Hamburg. Therefore Philarmonix & his partner Anja Knupper teamed up with Hannes Pilz, the founder of HMBRG 4 media and Homerun Events , to prepare the ground. Phil's longtime musical expertise and Hannes' experience in the events organisation seemed to be the perfect combination to run the night. The team got finally completed by Michael Bruns' joyful energy of Hamburgfunk . The core of the Family was born, with the confidence of providing a spiritual musical combination rare to experience these days and which was welcome with great response all around.
Indeed, our club standards are strongly rooted in a time where it was only about music and frenzy vibes spread in the room... It was not about fashion, coolness and endless musical sub-genres, it was only about the groove uniting people on the floor : 2 turntables, a soundsystem and DJs exploring their record collection. Remember the early days of House, the funky times of Acid Jazz or the golden era of Hip Hop.
And because we found out that all people of our musical family grew up with something in common - this unconditional love of the Black Music spectrum - we always believed that a good club night should propose 360 degrees of this rich spectrum tributing the forgotten treasures of the past, from classics to obscure jewels of Jazz, Funk, Soul, Dub, Afro beat, Disco and Brazil, to the freshest urban soundscapes of the funkiest Hip Hop, the deepest House and the ruffest Broken Beat tracks... As a reaction to boring monochrome club nights, we want to go back to a time when DJ’s were offering a genuine sound travel in one night, no formatted 2 hours dj sets but a true musical story...

Known as the founder of the Metronomic Family multimedia project and as a respected freestyler of the European club scene for the last decade, Philarmonix is today one of the upcoming players on the international map immersed himself in the deepness of the Black music spectrum : Jazz, Latin , Hip Hop, Detroit Techno, House and Afro Funk.
He delivered his selections across Europe & overseas alongside prestigious spinners such as Gilles Peterson, Jazzanova, Rainer Trüby, Derrick May, Mad Mats, Dimitri from Paris, Fred Everything, King Britt, Kirk Di Giorgio, Bugz In The Attic, Roni Size, Jimpster or 4hero and opened concerts for performers like Herbie Hancock and St Germain.
His natural curiosity led him to move from his native Brussels in 1999 to challenge other continents and dancefloors and to live a transatlantic passion between Montreal and Hamburg where he is residing nowadays. Since 2004, Phil finally stepped in the studio to give birth to new production projects such as Smiles Ahead (with David Alexander) and Petter & Dairmount (with Ralf Petter) which resulted in remix works for artists such as Sandboy, Hird feat. Yukimi Nagano & Moses McClean on labels as diverse as Hinterland (Ger), DNM (Swe) and Still Music (US).
His dj sets provide a fresh and refined definition of cutting edge international club music echoing almost all musical styles fusing House, Afro Funk, Jazz infused grooves and Hip Hop to Soul, Latin or warm electronic soundscapes always developing a sophisticated and soulful vibe throughout his performances. For him, it’s essential to remain permanently open to the pure pleasure of music without confiding it in musical ghettos and make what KRS1 called « edutainement » : entertain, educate, share and understand as life principles....
