About Me

Marabous is essentially a songwriter-duo, Jakob Stenström and John Ekberg who’ve been writing music together since 2004.
In their songwriting, they complete each other with Jakob’s feel for lyrics and melodies, and John’s feel for detail and harmonies.
John and Jakob have, ever since they first met, been sharing the same musical thoughts and ideas, and even though their influences are many and clear, they always end up doing their own thing with it.
Their Swedish calm is combined with influences mainly from the brittish/american indie-scene and bands like the Shins, the Decemberists and the Stone Roses.
Marabous today contain of members Jakob, John, drummer Efraim Kent and bass player Gabriel Castro.
In 08/09, three songs were recorded in Svenska Grammofonstudion and the recording-session resulted in the EP “My Coward Ways”.
