Kardemimmit

About Me

Hi folks!
We are Kardemimmit, a folk music band from Espoo, Finland. Our band consists of four girls; Maija (19), Jutta (18), Anna (20) and Leeni (20). All four play 15- and 38-stringed kantele (which is the national instrument of Finland) and sing as well (or nearly as well). We have played together so many years that we don’t remember anymore how many. We are quite fanatic folk music fans because folk music is our life and we love it, but that's ok. Kardemimmit plays mostly new kantele music but all our music is based on Finnish tradition, both Eastern and Western. Please enjoy yourself!
