I have a brother whose name is Jim
He's big and tall but not all that slim
He has black hair and brown eyes
As he's a man that loves to fly
He grew up with two younger brothers
As well as a great father and mother
He was loved by all that has ever met him
And he'll be remembered by all as their 'lil Jim
When we were younger we had lots of fun
Especially when we would watch Top Gun
He was the best brother in so many ways
As I sit back and remember the good ole days
Jim loved to play for the football team
Then he pursued his passion and dream
Which was to fly commercial airplanes
Yes, the road was tough but he never complained
Then he fell in love with a girl named Courtney
And it seemed that this was truly meant to be
He just made it onto the Captains list
But shortly thereafter things took a twist
He flew his best friend to Niagara Falls
Because of the romantic water falls
It was there Kevin proposed to his girlfriend
And on the way home is when they began their tragic descent
Somewhere over the lake we lost all contact
When news was heard we weren't sure how to react
We assembled search parties and contacted the police
As we hoped they would find the airplane all in one piece
But days and weeks went by with nothing but little news
As they only found 3 seats and my brothers shoes
We began to realize things weren't looking so great
Still we held out and hoping this wasn't his fate
But I know he died doing what he loved
As I know my brother was deeply beloved
I know Jimmy will remain in all our hearts forever
And soon once again we'll be reunited together
