So my name is Steve.
I'm my own person, but people feel the apparent need to classify me as any number of different things.
I do possess a number of characteristics parallel to what they see.
However, what people must understand is that Emo, for one thing, is a music genre.
Can a person BE screamo?
I thought not.
So then how could they POSSIBLY be emo?
Exactly.
There is such a subculture born from the post-punk scene that I'm very close to, and sometimes even personally associate myself with, but those originally refered to as 'emo' are completely different than those that people think of today. Even then, they're only refered to as such because of the music they commonly listen to, for which their social scene was named.
The original Goths were an Eastern Germanic tribe who played an important role in the fall of the western Roman Empire around 600 A.D.
So how could you be a goth?
They're all dead.
'Goth' is the slang for a subculture that my clothing style resembles which originally developed in Germany in the 80's.
Again distancing myself from such stereotypes, I'm actually one of the happiest people you'll ever meet. I can be really shy if you don't talk to me, and when that happens, sometimes I can be rather creepy. Hence, the confusion with Gothic subculture.
The truth is, I'm rather cuddly. I'm a freakin' teddy bear, and not enough people exist who know the truth of it. Naturally I expect it though. I won't show you the soft side of me until we get to a certain point in friendship. I put on a front when I don't know you. This is probably due to the fact that I'm very shy. Not to mention protective of my opinions. I'm not obnoxious about it, but I'm proud to be me and if you're looking to change that, you've unfortunately come to the wrong place.
Most people like the cuddly side of me. Or at least those who get to see it.
My political views are highly Liberal.
