Eight2’s style is a mix of today's hottest Hip-Hop, R&B and Reggae. He also emphasizes his luv for Old School/True School R&B and Hip-Hop throughout his sets. “I have something in my crates for everybody.†Many DJ’s but none more so then Jamaster Jay (R.I.P) and DJ Premier of GANGSTARR, have influenced Eight2. “JMJ was one of the pioneers of my time. Premier’s just nasty. His beats and scratch'n are on another level.†Eight2 has been DJ'n since 1994, but he first fell in luv w/ the art of turntablism at the age of 9. "I use to wait until my father was out of the house. Then I would go grab some of his records and start scratching on the turntable." In 1995, he started making mixed tapes in his basement and sold them in his high school. In 1996, Eight2 attended Wheaton College in Norton, MA. This is where he practiced his skills as a DJ by spinning at house parties and other campus events. After graduating in 2000, Eight2 hit the Boston club scene. Eight2 has moved from the basement to some of the hottest clubs in Boston: Avalon, Axis, Rumor, Embassy, 33 Lounge, High Bar, Umbria, Vertigo, Aqua, Caprice, Venue, 360, Sanctuary, Night Games, 180 Lounge, The Hong Kong (Boston), The Sugar Shack and the Cosmopolitan.
