AK MODERN was established in the Spring of 2005 with the direction of Aaron Paul Ramirez. AK MODERN is affiliated with AKBAYAN, which is the Pilipino-American Organization at San Jose State University. AK is the Abbreviation for AKBAYAN... and MODERN resembles modern dancing when it was originated back in the Philippines. For those who do not know what AKBAYAN means, it means "Embracing in Friendship." As we are still growing in the dance community... there is a lot to look forward to.
