About Me

Constantly breaking new grounds in ancient soil, Carl's compositional skills have been copied and commissioned, ranging from writing songs for the likes of Wendy Matthews, 'Find Me Here', to children's songs, live theatre soundtracks (two world travelled:- 'Ride' and 'Fourplay' for English playwright, Jane Bodie) and sound design, for dance productions as well as for choirs such as the 300 piece Woodford Festival Fire Event choir. Performing also for soundtracks Carl appeared as the voice of a Tahitian totem god in the U.S film production 'Paradise Found' featuring Keifer Sutherland and Natasha Kinski. An internationally renowned workshop facilitator in singing, songwriting, iimprovisation and inter-cultural exchange, Carl is a much sought after creator. <"There is very little I can say about Carl Pannuzzo that will not come out sounding like he paid me lots of money to say it. So let me just say this, and I'll say it for free: he looks like a normal-enough guy, but in fact Carl Pannuzzo is one of the most precious songwriters we have. And just for the record, it was his music that first inspired me to become a songwriter. His songs are the best kept secrets Melbourne has ever had. For his honesty and his ability, he's right up there with the big ones. Years before I knew him, his songs had already seen me through my very darkest nights. His songs become like a set of keys into a whole new house of thought. His melodies lodge themselves into people's heads like inspiring little secrets ... and it's all true." (Clare Bowditch)Prior to becoming an acclaimed solo artist, Carl was already well known from the unique A Cappella trio, ' Acapelicans ' and as singing drummer from roots-based improvisation band, 'Checkerboard Lounge', whose famed 7 year residency inspired the development of many great musicians and bands, and the bizzare Totally Gourdgeous , whose instrument ensemble was made entirely of gourds.
Carl writes songs on the sharps of arrows. And when he sings them, they are delivered directly into the heart of people. (Naomi Edwards)
